Our Foundation

OUR MISSION – The Collingwood Foundation exists to support and advance the community work of the Club.

OUR VISION – We have bold ambitions and seek to create a significant impact on homelessness, food insecurity, family violence and disadvantage.

The Collingwood Football Club Foundation drives the club’s ethos of ‘Side by Side We Stick Together.’ It supports Collingwood’s commitment to social impact, responsibility and leadership. The Foundation is committed to helping others, treating everyone with respect and to welcoming all regardless of their status in society.

The club has a long history of support for the community. Collingwood was born in 1892 at a time of terrible economic hardship. Against all odds the club not only survived – it thrived. Collingwood supported the struggling community that surrounded Victoria Park as it battled through the harshest of times. The club brought people together and gave them a sense of hope and pride. A place to belong. During the Great Depression, the Collingwood “Machine Team” won four Premierships in a row, an extraordinary record that still stands today.

The combination of on-field success and the club’s socially aware and sympathetic attitude has inspired generations of Magpie supporters with a loyalty and passion that endures today. Making an impact in our community remains as important today as it did when the club first formed.

The Foundation has been responsible for the establishment of the Magpies Community Centre at Victoria Park and the development of a range of major community initiatives including:

The Magpie Nest Houses - the Foundation rents 46 houses that provide safe homes for people experiencing homelessness, family violence and social poverty.

The Magpie Nest Cafe - in conjunction with Project 614, provides over 3000 hot meals per week to those who are experiencing food insecurity.

The Magpie Meals social enterprise - supports employment and training for refugee and migrant women in the hospitality industry.

The Barrawarn Program - are initiatives in support of First Nations People.

The Foundation also supports our Women’s Sports, Reclink Community Football and our Wheelchair Football teams.

The Collingwood Football Club Foundation is a certified Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and all gifts of $2 or more are fully tax deductible.

If you would like to support the Foundation or if you have any queries about our community initiatives please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@cfcfoundation.com.au
