The Collingwood Football Club is honoured to be part of yet another Big Freeze campaign in support of FightMND and their singular mission of a world free of motor neuron disease (MND).
Taylor Adams, Brianna Davey and Geva Mentor attended the launch yesterday at Melbourne Town Hall, donning this year’s beanie design ahead of the annual King’s Birthday match next month.
Despite the chill in the air, there was an impressive turn out in Turners Alley for the unveiling of a 3-meter high mural of co-founder Neale Daniher, painted by Vincent Fantauzzo.
Collingwood midfielder, Taylor Adams has had the privilege of playing in several Big Freeze matches against the Melbourne Football Club and had this to say:
“The annual Big Freeze match is a day larger than a game of football, it’s an occasion for all football fans to come together and donate in search for a cure to the debilitating MND.”
“Neale Daniher and his family have done an incredible job creating awareness around the disease and raising much needed funds for research. I have been touched by Neale’s, and the stories of the many others affected by MND and inspired by Neale’s selflessness and resilience to help find a cure for this beast.”
“It is a privilege, and a humbling experience, to play on King’s Birthday in front of a crowd of blue beanies. A reflection on how Neale’s story has inspired and moved the nation.”
The Collingwood Football Club looks forward to playing in front of a sea of blue beanies at the MCG on Monday, June 12th.
