Powered by SEDA, Collingwood Football Club's chief education program is designed to give students the opportunity to study in a practical, hands-on learning environment whilst gaining real experience in the sports industry.
Delivered over 36 weeks, the program aims to inspire young people through the power of sport and give them unique experiences in the sporting industry that they may not otherwise have access to.
“Heading into our third year of the program, Collingwood works closely with SEDA to deliver an experience for the students. Whether it’s assisting our events department at the President’s function at the MCG on ANZAC Day, presenting a marketing concept to our marketing department, running an All-Abilities Clinic, or completing an Analysis Placement with the AFL High Performance Program, we work to compliment the student’s studies with real-world experiences and opportunities to learn outside of the classroom.” – Liz Dunne, Collingwood Community Manager
The 2023 cohort gathered together to begin orientation week with an impactful smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country led by Alex Kerr, proud Wurundjeri man.
The Club is committed to making a significant impact on the educational journey of these students through scholarships, placements and work experience opportunities, with a hope to better prepare them for future work in the industry.
