2025 VWFL Fixture and Squad Confirmed

31 Mar 2025

The 2025 Victoria Wheelchair Football season is locked in, with AFL Victoria confirming the competition fixtures and Collingwood’s squad.

On 25 May, the Wheelchair Magpies will face Hawthorn with a sense of redemption, a boost of two new recruits, and core group of talented players returning, with our first game of the season commencing at 1pm AEST.

After a heartbreaking 2024 Grand Final loss to Richmond, the Wheelchair Magpies’ Championship Division team will be determined to bounce back stronger than ever.

Meanwhile, the Community Division has been on an incredible rise, clinching the 2024 Grand Final against the Tigers, and providing a glimpse of the club’s bright future, and squad depth.

Returning coach Andrew Paddle will be at the helm for both divisions and two new players have been added to the list, with Michael Telban and Kylie Prestwich given an opportunity to represent the black and white.

The State Netball & Hockey Centre will once again be the home of Victorian wheelchair footy in 2025, with two matches hosted at other venues.

The club will travel to RSEA Park in Round Five and the Geelong Leisure Time Centre in Round Nine, in a season consisting of 10 rounds, followed by two weeks of finals.

The VWFL is entering its eighth season in 2025, with the Pies forming one of five wheelchair teams from AFL clubs, including Hawthorn, Richmond, St Kilda and Essendon.
