TAC Unity Cup Day

The TAC Unity Cup held at La Trobe University, Bundoora on Sunday 27th March has been an absolute success in culminating different cultural communities with footy and life skill programs. Embracing our differences and engaging with their peers through the game we all love.

We have been fortunate enough to partner with Glen Waverley Secondary College and conduct a six-week training hub for both males and females leading up to the Unity Cup. Credits to Mark Robinson, and the GWSC staff that helped create an inclusive environment for all people, regardless of their AFL skill levels and gathered over 300 participants to come out and play!

The GWSC Multicultural Magpies had gathered teams from Year 7 to Year 12, creating an environment that demonstrated leadership from the senior participants to the juniors and encouragement throughout all levels. It was all about positive vibes and energy on the day and everyone embraced each other’s differences and became stronger as one.

Thanks to AFL Victoria and TAC, participants got to put the Black and White jumper with a personalised taste of some cultural diversity on it, to celebrate people from all Multicultural and Indigenous backgrounds.

The junior’s boys and girls both won their divisions, which resulted to two trophies added in the GWSC trophy cabinet. Coached by our SEDA Diploma students, and the GWSC staff!
