
Who’s in the team?
The Collingwood Magpies Community Football Team consists of young people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Players aged between 16 – 25 years are encouraged to participate in the community program and is open to all young people in need of support, connection, and a sense of belonging.
What league do they play in?
The Pies compete in the Reclink Victorian Football League and is an all abilities and all gender league with games played fortnightly during the winter.
Home games are played at Victoria Park in Collingwood, with transport provided for players for away games to ensure every body can participate. Lunch and equipment are also provided for the players and volunteers, by the Collingwood Community Foundation.

What about the coach?
Victorian Aboriginal Health Services (VAHS) Team Leader, Shane Williams will once again coach the team with multiple years of experience heading the program. Shane will again be supported by former North Melbourne and Collingwood star Daniel Wells in an assistant coaching role, bringing 258 games of AFL experience for the players to learn from.
Who will lead the team?
The team rotates captaincy for each game and awards the honour for setting good examples during training sessions. This method allows everyone the opportunity to build confidence, leadership skills and feel empowered to lead in their own way.
When do they play?
The Reclink Victorian Football League comprises of 14 teams located across Victoria. The Pies will kick off their season on Wednesday, 16th of April against the Werribee Tigers at Soldiers Reserve, Werribee.
Can I attend?
YES! Entry is free for all to attend, with games held at public reserves.
